Memory management in V1.5
The major change in this release is an indicator on the statusbar to show current memory usage. The display shows green, then orange then red bars. When the red bars are showing, the status flag will flash, click the flag and select Restart Packing Partner. When the flag flashes it is worth waiting a minute or so, as Packing Partner may be able to recover some memory without having to restart.

The memory indicator is also very much more accurate than it was before. Windows memory management is complex and the same amount of memory is not always available to Packing Partner. The new memory indicator takes this into account and accurately shows the memory used.

Background
With the increasing bandwidth on the internet, web pages are using much more memory. As Packing Partner navigates thousands of pages to collect sales, it's memory usage can rise quickly.

In theory, every page should use memory, then clear it when a new page is loaded. In practice this doesn't happen. Most web pages today, use methods that prevent this happening.

For large volume users (over 1000 orders a day), memory can fill up very quickly and lead to errors saving, displaying and printing data. Restarting Packing partner when prompted, should remove these issues.

This is an industry wide issue, that affects every program that visits lots of web pages. We are looking into alternative ways to resolve this problem.
